She is finally home!!! they released her wednesday afternoon... praise the lord!!! she is doing good... mom and dad are getting adjusted but they will do great... we are just so excited that they are here... keeping visitors to a minimal... too many crazy bugs floating around... brelee and i peeked through the glass door yesterday at her... try explaining all of this to a 4 year old who LOVES!LOVES!LOVES! babies... she just wants to get her hands on her soooo bad... hope to be able to squeeze in a little newborn mini-session of her real soon so be checking back... again, i thank everyone for their prayers and concern... god is good!!! kim

allison did a great job getting things together for anna beth's one year shoot... the party favors, etc. worked out great(except little miss ab really didn't like the hat)... we discussed this shoot when i did her 6 months pictures and that helped because we were able to share ideas, etc. and i was able to see just what allison wanted... and, if you like the skirt, that is a hand-made piece made with love by anna beth's mommy... good job mommy!!! hope you like the peek... shouldn't be much longer... kim

well, the lord gets all the praise for this... she is soooo much better... as of this morning, she is totally off all machines,oxygen,etc... and has taken formula and kept it down... colostomy bag is working great and from the pictures that they are sending me, she looks like a totally different baby from last week... GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!!!... that is all i can say... she did test positive for cystic fibrosis but we are optimistic that she will be fine and we are all going to learn what we need to to see that she lives a normal, healthy life... she is a miracle baby and will continue to be a miracle... thank you everyone for your prayers and concern during this time... thanks also to my clients who have been so patient and understanding... y'all are the best... have a great weekend!!! kim

well, i'm back in shreveport today... came over at 4 this morning... kadence had a bad night and still can't use the bathroom... they were wanting to do surgery last nite but she was still to weak... they took her to surgery around 1 today and they just came in and said she made it through... praise the lord... prayers were answered... so many of you have sent your well-wishes and have been praying for kadence and the family and we are so appreciative... we love our small town and our family and friends...

they put a colostomy bag in and she will have to have it for at least 6mths... still on vent and sedated... will be a couple of days we think until they start possibly taking her off of all that... not real sure... could be longer... she is really sick but we know the lord answers prayers... thanks for your support and prayers...kim

well, i am finishing up my first day back at work since the holidays... it has been a crazy day... trying to "tend to" my schools... trying to get a new blog started... trying to get pictures edited... i have to stop at some point and pay bills... yuck... all of this while i am still worried about my niece and her mom and dad... still not a whole lot of change... and it is very difficult for me to be here... can't keep my mind on what i am suppose to be doing... i will update you all on her condition when i know more... she is still on ventilator... my mom is going back over tomorrow so i will have more news... this is a very stressful time for my family but we will all be there for them... we do appreciate your prayers and support... so many of you are so concerned and want to help... that's one of the great things about living in a small town!!!

i am writing this blog post from shreveport, la, this morning... my sweet little niece that was born last monday is in the children's hospital here... she was having trouble with her "plumbing"... they had to airlift her from monroe yesterday afternoon... needless to say, we have all been very worried and upset... they performed surgery last night to remove bowel obstruction... she will be over here for 2-3 weeks and come home with a tube in her belly... we found out during nikki's pregnancy that she was a carrier for the gene for cystic fibrosis (spelling?- haven't had much sleep)... josh was tested and results were positive for him as well... the surgeon told them last night that he was 90-95% sure that kadence has it... we have all been worried that this might happen... they will meet with doctors today... our family will appreciate your prayers...

i will be back at work tomorrow catching up after my much-needed, much-enjoyed vacation... kim

i'm done!!!... well, almost... i have a few more orders to receive today and get ready for people to pick up but almost done feels reallllllyyyyy good!!!... i will be closing this afternoon and will reopen jan. 6th... as most of you know both of my brothers have blessed our families with two new additions... well, my brother brandon and wife meredith have had their precious little boy but now we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my baby brother's little girl... (yes i know i shouldn't call him baby but he always has been the baby brother...) nikki went to doctor monday and unless kadence decides to give us a real christmas surprise, she is scheduled to be induced on the 29th... we can't wait... two precious babies... these are a couple of pics from our maternity session... i really haven't had much practice with maternity shoots but thanks to my two sister-in-laws i got to practice a little... hope you like the peek... kim

oh my... i pulled an "almost all-nighter" last night and then up again at 4:30 this morning editing... i wasn't planning to get up that early BUT i woke up then and realized that i had left something at a location where i did a photo session yesterday and i was really upset about it... sooo at 4:45 i was heading to the place to see if it was still there and nope it wasn't... oh well, but i knew i wouldn't be able to go back to sleep so i decided to make use of the time... got 4 sessions done b/w last night and this morning... october 17th was homecoming at my alma mater, oak grove high... i consider it a great privelege to still be able to be involved with oghs activities... these young ladies and young gentleman represented og well... i thought we had a beautiful court... the night was saddened due to the tragedy that had occurred earlier in the week but the students at og impressed me the way they respectfully paid tribute to their peer that lost his life, along with two other family members, throughout the week at the same time enjoying the planned festivities for a week that they look forward too...

i just wanted to share a pic of our beautiful (and handsome) students on the court... they were very easy to work with and i appreciate that... mrs. hines as well as many others work very hard to make this time of year at og a memorable one... the class of 1988 celebrated their 20th class reunion during the weekend of homecoming... made me realize that in just 5 short years i will be celebrating my 20th reunion... oh my where does the time go... it was good to see people that i hadn't seen in a while... ok, enough blabbing... if you can't tell, i had a great time working the homecoming weekend... hope you like the peek... check out the oghs page of my website in a week or so and check out the others... thanks for listening...kim

ITS HERE!!... ok, i am sorry to say but i can not take any new clients for cards... i think i have just about booked all of my '07 card clients but if not if you want '08 cards the session deadline is Nov. 8th... order deadline is Nov. 21st... if i have any cancellations i will post on the blog and open up a new client spot... i'm sorry about this but edit and design time limits me to the number of sessions that i can book... not to mention my obligations to my two schools... GO TIGERS AND GO HAWKS!!!

this precious angel made her first trip to o.g. from d.c. the day before our shoot. i think the flight was exhausting for her ~ she slept through almost every snap of my camera... how do you like my new stool? found it in frisco, texas on my 4th of july holiday... i loved it!!! this was my first shoot to use it on so i was excited... thanks leah for the opportunity to snap cece... hope you like!

we didn't know when the session started if holden was going to warm up to me enough to let me get a few good pictures BUT we found a common bond (thank goodness the granddads had taken him to the safari park earlier in the day). we talked about all the animals he saw and we even took a break to ride the 4-wheeler. we never did get him to hold his new sister ~ he stood his ground on that one! we made the best of it! i love the picture with him looking at her. i want to put a caption beside it "and just what am i suppose to do with this?!?"
